Education in Games @ UCR

Game development is a multi-billion dollar industry growing at a dizzying pace. With top-notch faculty and facilities, UCR is positioned to offer a premiere hands-on undergraduate education in game development, programming and design, providing a competitive edge to our students for first-choice job placement.

Riverside is positioned right in the heart of some of the best game development in the country with a growing list of companies in the Inland Empire (I.E.) and in neighboring Orange County and the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The I.E. is becoming a hotbed of activity says a recent article from the Press Enterprise. UCR's game efforts specifically were highlighted in USA Today.

In March 2010, the Princeton Review along with Gamepro magazine included UCR in their list of "Top 50 Undergraduate Game Design Programs," chosen from 500 universities in North America offering programs in related fields of study.  With this recognition and its prime location, UCR joins the ranks among the best places on earth to learn about the exciting world of video games. For more detail see: Top 50 Game Design Programs.

But why have us go on and on about the opportunities to learn about games at UCR? Here is what some of our recent students have to say:
