Working in the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering is a rich and rewarding experience. In the Department of Computer Science and Engineering we are committed to fostering a diverse student and faculty population and have a strong sense of community and pride. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers: (a) M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and (b) B.S. degrees in Computer Science, Business Informatics, and Computer Engineering. The Department currently has 24 faculty members that include six ACM/IEEE/AAAS Fellows, and 9 Young Investigator/NSF CAREER award holders. The department is heavily focused towards Ph.D. education with more than 130 Ph.D. and 60 M.S. students enrolled in the 2013-14 academic year. The Department graduates approximately 20 Ph.D.s per year and places them in highly reputed organizations. The CSE department faculty brought in over $10M new funding during the 2013-14 academic year. The National Research Council (NRC) placed us very high in its most recent ranking. UCR faculty have the benefit of being centrally located in Southern California; UCR is uniquely situated so that our beautifully scenic and park-like campus that is within a short driving distance from all Southern California attractions, UCI, UCLA, UCSD and many Cal-State Universities.
