CSE team won the Best Student Paper award at IEEE CloudNet

CSE Ph.D. Student Aditya Dhakal and Professor K. K. Ramakrishnan

together with their collaborator Dr. Sameer Kulkarni (IIT Gandhinagar,

until recently also at UCR as a post-doctoral fellow) received the Best

Student Paper award at the 9th IEEE International Conference on Cloud

Networking. In their paper titled "ECML: Improving Efficiency of Machine

Learning in Edge Clouds", they design a machine learning platform that

spatially shares a GPU cluster among multiple applications. ECML

increases the GPU cluster's utilization, allowing users to run more

applications in resource-constrained edge clouds. This work was done

with support from the U.S. National Science Foundation.
