CSE professor Amr Magdy wins a Microsoft research award to support his research on enabling machine-learning-based spatial data analysis on edge devices. The supported research explores using limited resources to detect spatial objects in real time to support various spatial applications in agriculture, airport taxiway safety, and traffic monitoring. The proposed technology is envisioned to support various domains of spatial applications and various data formats. The award also contributes to student diversity by empowering underrepresented student populations.
