CSE student and professor receive best student paper award

CSE PhD student Mohammad Jahanian and Prof. K. K. Ramakrishnan received the best student paper award (one of two top awards of the conference) in the 6th ACM conference on Information Centric Networking (the leading conference in Future Internet Architectures). In their paper titled "Name Space Analysis: Verification of Named Data Network Data Planes", they proposed a theoretical framework and tool for checking the correctness of NDN data planes, with regards to their information-centric network-wide properties. Their paper opens a new avenue for addressing and designing formal methods for the verification of complex name-based, information-centric networks. The work has been done with the support of grants from NIST and NSF for designing techniques to improve emergency response for disasters.
