Registration for Spring 2025 is open from February 10 – April 11
NOTE: All holds must be cleared before you can enroll in courses.
Enrollment instructions
- CSE graduate course offerings are posted at https://www1.cs.ucr.edu/graduate/course-listings/
- For degree requirements, you can review the General Catalog for program requirements and course descriptions. You can also use the CS Program Plan or CEN Program Plan.
- CS and CEN graduate students are allowed to enroll in up to 15 units per quarter. To maintain full-time status, students need to enroll in at least 12 units.
NOTE: International students, students on fellowships, GSR, and/or TA must be enrolled full-time every quarter. - PhD students who have taken all the required courses but have not advanced to candidacy must enroll in up to 6 units of CS 297 and can supplement the units by enrolling in CS 299. Enrollment in CS 297 requires faculty permission.
- Students who have advanced to candidacy or have taken all required courses but wish to enroll in courses other than research (CS 299) and Colloquium (CS287) need to fill out the enrollment form.
- PhD students enrolling in 12 units of CS 299 course only, do not submit this form. This course does not require faculty permission; therefore, you need to add this course while the enrollment period is open on R’Web.
Steps to register:
- View Available Courses – Check the UCR online Schedule of Classes and select the courses you wish to take.
- Complete the Enrollment Form – Use the Spring 2025 - Graduate Course Enrollment Form. The link to the form is provided in the registration email you received.
- Enrollment Process:
If you meet the prerequisites, you can enroll yourself via R’Web.
If you need prerequisite waivers, wait for your request to be processed before adding courses on R’Web. - Processing Time – Allow at least 2 business days for your request to be processed. Please be patient.
- Changes to Enrollment – If you need to modify your enrollment, submit a new form.
- Waitlist Information – If the course is full, add yourself to the waitlist.

Reminders:
Changing enrollment after Week 2 of the quarter
- Enrollment Adjustment Form (EAF) available in RGrad is required after the second week of the quarter.
- PhD and international students must be enrolled in at least 12 units each quarter.
- If you drop a course, you must add another course to maintain full-time status.
- If you change the grade basis to S/NC (Satisfactory/No Credit), the course cannot be counted toward your degree requirements.
CS 287 enrollment
- Permission to enroll in CS 287 is not needed, please enroll yourself in R'Web.
Increasing Units for CS 297, CS 298I, and CS 299
- Enroll in the Course – Upon enrollment, the course will initially appear as 1 unit.
- Adjust Variable Units – After enrolling, go to the "Schedule and Options" tab in R’Web to modify the unit count.
- Modify the Unit Count:
Since this is a variable-unit course, the unit number will appear as a clickable hyperlink.

EE Course Enrollment
- If you wish to enroll in EE courses that are not listed in the CS course enrollment form, please complete the ECE Grad Student Prerequisite Waiver form.
- For any questions, contact the ECE Program Coordinator at adrienne@engr.ucr.edu.
Important: CS advisors cannot grant permission for students to enroll in EE courses unless the course is cross-listed with CS.
Undergraduate Course Enrollment (CS 100 - CS 199)
- To request enrollment in undergraduate courses (CS 100 - CS 199), complete the BCOE Enrollment Assistance Form.
- Graduate students will be granted enrollment permission when the second pass begins.
Important:
Enrollment in undergraduate courses is subject to availability. You will only be able to enroll if seats are open.
Do not contact Undergraduate Advisors for updates on your submitted form. If a seat becomes available, you will receive an email notification.
CS advisors cannot enroll students in undergraduate courses or respond to enrollment-related questions.

Jan 17 (end of week 2): deadline to add/drop in RWeb
Jan 24 (end of week 3): deadline to add/drop - EAF* required, due at NOON.

Feb 28 (end of week 8): deadline to change grading basis or variable units - EAF* required, due at NOON.
SPRING 2025
