The University of California Riverside (UCR) is among four institutions to receive the 2020 NCWIT Academic Alliance Seed Fund. Powered by the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT), the Seed Fund provides start-up funding to academic programs to increase the number of women in computing. As a Seed Fund recipient, UCR receives $10,000 to launch outreach initiatives focused on both recruitment and retention of female students. The efforts are led by Drs. Mariam Salloum (Computer Science and Engineering), Jiasi Chen (Computer Science and Engineering), and Cecilia Cheung (Psychology).
