CSE Ph.D. Student Aditya Dhakal and Professor K. K. Ramakrishnan and their collaborator Dr. Sameer Kulkarni (IIT Gandhinagar, previously at UCR as a post-doctoral fellow), received the Special Paper Award at the 14th IEEE International Conference on Cloud Computing. Their paper titled "Primitives Enhancing GPU Runtime Support for Improved DNN Performance" presents a DNN inference framework with a set of software primitives that reduce the overhead for DNN inference. This DNN inference framework reduces inference latency by 35% and increases inference throughput by 300% compared to existing DNN inference frameworks. This work was done with support from the U.S. National Science Foundation.
