The Computer Science and Engineering Department is proud to announce the recipients of this year's Laxmi Bhuyan Fellowship! This prestigious award recognizes excellence in research among our students.

Congratulations to the 2025 Fellowship Recipients:

Jingyao Zhang (Advisor: Elaheh Sadredini)
Dawon Ahn (Advisor: Vagelis Papalexakis)

Each awardee receives a $2,000 stipend in support of their ongoing research endeavors. Reflecting on the honor, Xiangyun Ding described the fellowship as a “huge encouragement” to continue advancing research.

The fellowship was established to honor the remarkable and highly productive career of Professor Laxmi Bhuyan, through the Laxmi N. Bhuyan Endowed Fellowship in Computer Science Fund at the Marlan and Rosemary Bourns College of Engineering. Dedicated to supporting mid-career Ph.D. students, the fellowship recognizes those who demonstrate research excellence and meaningful impact in the field of Computer Science and Engineering.
